who we are
Circle City Leather is a diverse group of individuals who come together to support and celebrate Achillean attraction.
Leather began as a reaction against a society that viewed male homosexuality as “a disease of feminization”. Leather men throughout the 50s, 60s and 70s rebelled against this definition, and declared loudly and visibly that it was possible to be both masculine and gay.
Today, Leather exists in a different society with different misconceptions, but our mission is the same: to show the world who we are, not who we are thought to be. We embody a diverse set of beliefs, preferences, practices, protocols, and kinks. We are visible, responsible, respectful, dutiful, and above all, intentional. We create, maintain and defend space for those like and unlike us with equal dedication and fervor.
Circle City Leather is focused around Masc-Q-Raid, our Achillean gathering at SubSpace. We attend and contribute to various events around the Midwest, such as ILKW, Buckwood Leather Weekend, CLAW and IML. We see ourselves as event runners, educators, and mentors.
Whether you’re new to Leather culture or have been a part of the community for decades, Circle City Leather welcomes you. Join us in building a stronger, more inclusive queer community in Indianapolis.
